Pannu should call the Gullivans and see if they are interested, no compo, just take him FFS!

Sullivan maybe a *************** but he is not stupid. He won't make the same mistake twice.

Apologies, Tony! I see you decided to add a little gloss to the mighter conqueror-of-Brentford-on-pens' portfolio by correctly pointing out that it was our first WEMBLEY  triumph in 136 years. (No matter that the first final didn't take place until 1923- still every little bit helps, as they say)

Okay first majar cup triumph in 136 years. Satisfied.

Yes we won the Carling Cup 48 years ago but apparently the major clubs didnt compete for it then.

Your the one who is splitting hairs mate. We won it with McLeish as manager.
You just dont like the FACT because it blows apart your reasons to get rid of him.

I fully concede we havent played the prettiest football and I would prefer it to be passing football on the ground with skill and pace. But unlike you I accept that Birmingham City are a smaller club and we are building.

I also recognise the FACT that we beat a very good Arsenal side 2-1 at Wembley in the Carling Cup final 2011 and this deserves much credit. Something you for all your wonderful wisdom appear to have forgotten in 3 months.

Curly as a Blues fan can you just do one thing for me please.

Can you just acknowledge that Birmingham City WON the Carling Cup trophy, that McLeish was the manager and the team deserved the win and McLeish was the first manager that has done this at Wembley. Be honest when you first saw that team 4-5-1 with Fahey on the left wing. What did you think? You thought McLeish had blown it didnt you. McLeish's tactics proved excellent. Fahey along with the rest stifled the Arsenal surges and he came close to scoring the winner.

This wasnt the most expansive side he could have played. You would have started Beausejour on the left maybe and played 4-4-2.

You cant ignore the fact McLeish and the team put in an outstanding performance. Arsenal really wanted to win that cup.

If your not keen on him fair enough that is your perogative but you have to credit where it is due. Im not a relative of McLeish. I have never met the man. When I look at his achievements with Birmingham City I draw the conclusion he will be a tough act to follow. Yes I know we have been relegated but we have been relegated before. I am disappointed however given his current record I believe he is well worth keeping providing he is motivated and wants to stay with us.

If you think we are going to have a new manager come in and it will all be blue skys, goals galore and Barcelonaesque football your living in dreamland mate.

if it wasn't for the great craic with fellow Brummies at the match, it would be a mare watching Ecks drivel. Cup win awesome. But he is just too negative and terrified of doing anything different. can't even get excited at signins as he'll be too scared to play em.

Tony, Blues were excellent that day and fully deserved their win. It was one of the best days of my life as a Bluenose. McLeish out today if not sooner.

He has every reason to be smug he has a better record at Birmingham City than any other Blues manager in 50 years.

You may not like this FACT but it is true nonetheless.

**thumbup

OK... here's a fact for you. He's the only manager who has got us relegated TWICE from the top flight. How can he ce classed as the best we have had when you take that into consideration? YOUR interpretation of what makes him good is purely subjective... and based on the things that YOU think are important. These facts that you present are facts I agree... but they are used subjectively.

Some of us may want to include the following FACTS in deciding how good a manager has been:

Win ratio
Goals scored per game
League position
Goal difference
Points per game average
Tactical adeptness
Quality of transfers
Trophies won
League Titles won

Nuff Said!

It's not up to the fans to decide

Forum Power and Anti McLeish campaigns might be flavour of the month here right now but are you deluded enough to think the 'powers that be' look at any input from here ??

:LMAO:

Of course the club takes notice of the fans...."Bowyer" :dancer:

That was through a presented petition tough

Not an internet chat site

:silence:

And guess what.....sometime later Bowyer signed for us.....no problems at all

You do not need a petition to get the mood of your supporters, Mcleish has never been considered for West Ham as the board know it would be their death nell.

It is not a FACT- it is an OPINION. (Learn to spot the difference FGS!)

Look at the records mate of what the club has done with McLeish in charge.

Promoted from championship first time.
Longest unbeaten run in top division.
Unbeaten at home in 12 months.
Highest premier league finish.
Carling cup winners 2011 first major wembley trophy in 136 years.

...This isnt opinion this is FACT.

Lowest goal scorers in all four divisions
lowest number of corners in the prem
Lowest number of "shots on targets" in the prem

Relegated a second time under Eck.

...This isnt opinion this is FACT.

McFadden 8 months Injured
Hleb Injured most of season
Martins Injured post Carling Cup
Zigic slow starter and Injured post Carling Cup
Bentley unconvincing and Injured

Derbyshire not premier league quality.
Phillips - probably should have been used more granted.
Jerome offish season
Larsson average first half of the season but good last 3 months

These are all FACTS and show why we didnt get as many goals as we would have liked. It's a horrendous injury list concentrated on the attack areas of the team.

Furthermore This was PLAN D.

Give him Nzogbia, Pavulchenko or any of those recommendations and you will get more goals.

How do you know Alex McLeish didnt tender his resignation?

It wouldnt surprise me if he said:
"I would like to stay but I will go if you wish it".

Maybe the board didnt accept his resignation because it wasnt in the bests interests of Birmingham City did you ever think that.

:LMAO:

Good one Tony

I'm sorry but NONE of these facts contribute to McLeish being labelled as the BEST manager we've had. It'll either rain or get dark before tomorrow... FACT! But absolutely nothing to do with McLeish being good, bad or indifferent. YOUR view of him being the best is YOUR view... YOUR opinion! There are NO FACTS that indicate that he is the best!

Relegated from Premiership first time out.

No he didn't.....he inherited Bruce's side the first time out

Blues biggest spender by far.

Again your ability to do even the most basic research has left you with embarrassing egg on your face once more......Steve Bruce spent more than 65 million poounds (wages, loans excluded) in his time at SA .......you'll have to do better that

Quote:

2nd relegation in 3.5 years. (The only manager in Blues history to have managed that if memory serves)

See top line

Quote:

2nd manager to win League Cup. (Not the first as you erroneously claim)

Gil Merick won the first in 1963 but many of the big clubs of the era declined to take part.......The LC is a much larger profile competition these days and if you only go back 10 years, the traditional Big Four clubs before Man City came along were all winning it most of the time

Quote:

12 months unbeaten home run. (mostly draws)
13 match unbeaten run in P. (mostly draws)
lowest goalscorers in Prem 2010-11.

But a year unbeaten at home is some record in one of the best Leagues in the world and was admired even in the London press who usually love to diss us
In the 12 match league run we won 7 and drew 5.......are you feeling allright or is basic Arithmetic not your strongest forte ???
And if you add the three FA Cup games that we played during that run we won an extra 2 and drew 1....so that is actually 9 wins and 6 draws ......I'd take that anyday over 15 losses by four goals to three
Lowest goalscorers because of our cruel injury luck to our strikers such as Zigic and Martins plus poor quality service from our midfield throughout the season.....including the much admired Gardner

Quote:

9 wins in 49 premiership games

Bot go back and take a look at the draws in there........I see for this moan you conveniently omitted that this time.....we can see right through you, Pal

I don't whether you noticed it, Parti, because from the tone of your posts it's seems unlikely but BCFC were relegated to the Championship last Sunday. It was also HIS (not Steve Bruce or anyone else that I know) but HIS 2nd relegation. It's very simple: one relegation plus another relegation makes two relegations. ( I'll play Black Adder, you play Baldrick- you do it so effortlessly.)

Tomorrow I'll teach you how many goals Graig Gardner scored this season but I don't want to overload your pretty little head with too much information today.
